WE 95 Points Pommery made headline news in 2017 when it became the first Champagne house to plant vines in England. Nearly a decade later, it's at last making wine from its own fruit. The results are stellar—and distinctly English. It's evocative, even a little wild, like an untamed meadow, or the smell of the winery at vintage-time, alongside grated lemon, bruised apple, and herbs. A bright, piercing citrus pith acidity shines a laser beam through the gentle slippery texture. It's lip-smacking, long, and lemony. Acid-hounds rejoice, for this is a delicious cross-pollination of French and English fizz proficiency at an excellent price. — Christina Pickard
